Baby Update

I went to the doctor on Christmas eve morning. I am dialated to a one, which has been the case for the last three doctor visits in a row. I'm not sure how effaced I am, but it doesn't really matter because things are not really progressing. I think this little girl just likes it where she is. So I am scheduled to be induced on Monday, January 5th. It's funny because the whole time I've been pregnant, I've had a feeling she would be late, no matter what other people say. There is still time for things to change, but I honestly just don't think they will. I will call the hospital that morning and they will call me back with a time to come in. My doctor called and got me on the list (or so she said she would) because if they are really busy, they will push me back even further. And I know it is a really busy time for babies because it seems like every woman I see is pregnant!

The Home Stretch!

Well, as of today I officially have a week and a half until my due date! Unless she is late, which I have a feeling she may be. I'm actually hoping she won't come until January because I really don't want a December baby. I am not completely miserable, I could hang in there a few more days, but if she comes in December I will still love her! And my mom made a good point that the longer she waits, the bigger she may be!
My whole pregnancy I have been eerily calm about having baby, not really scared at all, but these last few weeks I have really started freaking out! I have all these what-ifs running through my head:
What if she is born huge?
What if she is born with a deformed head?
What if she is an unhappy baby?
What if she stops breathing during the night?
What if I don't have everything I need?
What if I can't get her to stop crying?
What if I just don't know what to do???
I know that these are worries that every first time mom has, and everyone tells me I will be fine, but I still always have the worry in my head that it won't be fine.

I haven't really taken a whole lot of pregnant pictures so last night we took some of me standing next to my cute Christmas tree that I love (with no presents under it yet, we are a little last minute this year!)

I had a fourth ultrasound about two weeks ago because my belly was measuring small. Well, it turns out she is average, meaning she really could be huge by the time she gets here! This is the best picture of her face they got. Her hand is covering the left eye, but on the right side, you can see her big chubby cheek! She's also got really fat lips too. I really am concerned about her looking deformed looking because the ultrasound tech took several 3-D pictures and profile pictures, and they look completely weird!
But don't worry, the tiny little arrow is showing that it is still a girl!

More baby showers

My cute neighbor (well, actually my mom's cute neighbor) Robin threw me my third baby shower. She did some of the cutest things, she made me a little baby scrapbook for me to put pictures in. I should have taken a picture of it, it's the cutest thing ever. She also came up with the genius idea of having thank you notes and envelopes in a basket- everyone wrote their address on an envelope so I wouldn't have to go to any work finding addresses after I write thank you notes! Thanks Robin for all the hard work you went to! Also thanks to my mom, Bonnie and Debbie!

Kory's mom actually threw me my second shower which was so much fun and I also really appreciate the hard work she went to. But I'm sad because I brought my camera and forgot to actually take any pictures, which I'm really mad about. I hope I can actually remember to take pictures when my baby is born!

Growing Belly (and some more Halloween)

I took another picture of my belly this morning (I am a little over 7 1/2 months). Man it has grown a lot since the last picture! I still have over a month to go! It is definitely getting uncomfortable. She is clear up in my ribs, and I have a long torso so I am convinced that she is going to be huge!

I meant to put these on a while ago since Halloween seems like it was forever ago. Kory has a blowup sumo suit that he wears every Halloween and every year it is so hilarious!

Kory with his little brother Tanner. He was the butcher from "Gangs of New York" (I've never seen it).

I made Halloween sugar cookies for work and this is what happened. My belly was a magnet for the flour.

Halloween Costume Contest

On Halloween, my workplace had a costume contest for both employees and members. Being pregnant, I really didn't want to dress up. I thought it might be funny to dress up as a pregnant cheerleader, but I wasn't even serious about doing it and I didn't know where I would find a cheerleader skirt to fit me! My mom happened to find a skirt at Old Navy that worked so at the last minute I gathered up some cheerleader stuff. I only ended up wearing the costume for a couple of hours. My boss had random people vote on who they thought had the best costume out of the employees. It turns out, I won 2nd place!!! I was really surprised, especially since I didn't think my costume was very good. There were some employees who went to a lot of work and had really good costumes. I guess the idea of a pregnant cheerleader is pretty funny!

Baby Shower time!

My amazing friend McKenna threw me a work baby shower last week. She planned it and did everything by herself, the invitations, games, even the food! We had it in the Sports Academy preschool, hence the tiny table!

Yay for my Boppy pillow!
I look like a blimp!

This onsie has the Sports Academy logo on it!

Missy made cute "rattle" cupcakes!

This is McKenna holding her pretend pregnant belly. Thanks so much McKenna! It was so much fun and I got some really great gifts!

Puppysitting!

About a week and a half ago, Kory and I dogsat little Brutus. He has definitely gotten bigger but he is still the cutest little puppy ever! Look at that face! We had him from a tuesday clear until the next monday, so everyday when I went to work, I had to put him in his kennel and it broke my heart! He was so much fun, he loves to play and he has so much energy. He went to the bathroom several times in the house, potty training a dog requires constant attention! On monday, Kory's little brother Tanner came to get him and I had to stay in the bedroom because I was crying! I was so sad to let him go and even now that it's been a week I still miss that little bug!

My first tag

I got tagged my McKenna, quite a while ago actually (she tagged me before Stacie), but I've been having a hard time coming up with stuff. The rules are:to list 6 quirks about yourself and then tag six people. Leave them a message on their blog letting them know they have been tagged. I am going to have to include Kory in this b/c I can't think of 6 things for myself only.

1- I looooovvvve Disneyland! It is my most favorite place ever. Kory and I have gone every year since we got married. I would rather go there than anywhere else. This is the first year we haven't gone because of two reasons 1) I wouldn't be able to ride most of the rides 2) there aren't enough bathrooms in the place. Hopefully we will get to go next year, but that might not be possible with a baby.

2- I love animals! And I am very sensitive towards them. Kory and I sometimes watch Animal Police or other animal shows and I cry. I once rescued a dying mouse from the Ruby Tuesday parking lot. I'm pretty sure he ended up dying anyway. I mostlylove dogs and one of my favorite shows is Dog Whisperer on National Geographic. I have dogsat more dogs than anyone I know (besides a professionsal dogsitter). Here are pictures of just a few:

MAX the Chihuahua

TWERP the Pug

GRAYSON the Pit Bull

3- I am very particular about the household cleaning. I have to clean the house every week, otherwise I get really frustrated. I also have to do it in the same order every time. There have been a few times when Kory has tried to help me or surprise me by cleaning a room. Although I've appreciated the effort, I always have to go over and do it again. He has learned to just let me do it.

4- This one is Kory's- he loves sports.... a LOT!!! Whenever he is not working, I feel like there is a game on. Football, baseball, college, pro, you name it... Sometimes I can hardly handle it. I am sort of glad that the Red Sox are out so now I don't have to watch every game of the rest of the World Series! One thing you might notice is that in almost every picture I have of him, he is wearing a team shirt. He has enough team shirts to open his own store. These are his favorite teams:

5- Another one about Kory- he still watches WWE (yes, World Wrestling Entertainment). Whenever one of his games is on a commercial, he will usually flip the channel to WWE, it is so funny. He always says he watches it because he used to watch it all the time when he was younger. I guess maybe he'll never outgrow it...

6- Finally, Kory loves history. He cracks me up about it. During the summer when it was warmer we used to go on walks every night over to Center Street and walk down it. It is so funny because every singe time, he would comment on certain houses and their history, stuff that he has learned about them over time. There are houses and businesses all over town that he knows random history about and he will always make a comment about them. Sometimes we would walk up on campus and he would want to wander the cemetary and look at the old headstones. He really loves all history, he watches the history channel sometimes, he loves movies having to do with American history, he loves to look through books about history.

Belly Pictures...(and I got tagged!)

There are a cerain few of you who have been wanting me to post these. I'm sorry if it grosses the rest of you out! I made them as small as possible! The one on the left was taken shortly after 5 months. The one on the right was taken this morning (6 1/2 months). I should have started taking belly pictures at one month because someday I'll want to look back at them, but of course it takes me forever to get things together!

Also... I got tagged by Stacie! It is a pretty easy one: All you do is go to your 6th picture album folder, pick the 6th picture and post it. After that, tag 5 friends.. Easy as that! It just so happens that I am pretty new at this blogging thing and I only have one picture folder, but I will do it anyway. I picked the 6th picture in my one file. It's not even a real life picture, but I still think it's pretty cute. I love Classic Pooh pictures and I have a bunch of them saved in my file. I am probably going to do something creative with them to put in my baby's room.

I have to think for a few days who I am going to tag, it's going to be hard since my blog is new and I hardly have any friends!

Baby Brutus!

Kory's little brother Tanner got a brand new boxer puppy named Brutus. He brought him over a few weeks ago and he is the cutest puppy ever!! He is a lot smaller than he looks in these pictures! He is only 6 or 7 weeks old and weighs only a few pounds. He kept crawling onto the shelf underneath our coffee table and falling asleep. I think he knew we couldn't bother him under there.

Baby Parker's First Pictures!

These first two pictures are from my 20 week ultrasound. They are pretty good profiles if you ask me! Someone even told me that she has my same profile. I do have pictures from an 11 week ultrasound, but it just looks like a peanut.

This one is a head-on picture of her face (face on the left, torso on the right). This ultrasound was actually done at 24 weeks. At the beginning of the week, she suddenly just stopped moving. I could hardly feel her all week and I started to panic because normally I could feel her pretty regularly throughout the day. I called the doctor, they told me to come in so they could check her heart rate. Turns out they did another ultrasound, which I was not expecting, but was cool because I got to see her again. As soon as the doctor started the ultrasound, she got the hiccups, which he said was a very good sign. We could definitely see her moving, so everything turned out to be okay (I have been able to feel her pretty regularly since that appointment). My mom came with me for moral support and even though she never really said so, I'm sure she was pretty elated to see the baby as well!

Welcome to my blog!

This is my first blogging experience ever- it has taken me a little longer than I thought to figure things out, so it may take me a while to make it complete! Over the next few weeks I will have much more interesting things added...
