Mt. Everest!!!

This Wednesday (March 25) my dad, Bruce Parker, is leaving to attempt to climb Mt. Everest. It will be is final summit on his quest to climb the Seven Summits and he will be gone for about 2 1/2 months. For those you who don't know, the Seven Summits refers to the highest mountain on each of the seven continents. There are only about 230 people in the world who have completed it, so it is quite a task and quite an accomplishment!

My mom is doing a blog which is much more detailed and has a lot more information about the Seven Summits. She will be updating his progress regularly. For anyone interested in viewing it, link here. I have also added the blog to my blog list, so you can connect there as well.

Mt. Everest is really only climbable in the spring, that is when the weather is best. Last year, my dad was all set up to go, but because of all the political unrest in China, the government closed all the borders to the country, and no one was able to climb it. So instead he climbed Manaslu, a mountain in Nepal that is only about 2,000 feet short of Mt. Everest. This picture is him on the summit.

Mt. Everest
This picture shows the North and South faces of Mt. Everest. My dad originally wanted to climb the North ridge, but that way is closed, so he will be climbing the South ridge, which is less technical than the north, but more dangerous because of the icefall.

This is a picture of my dad (in the red coat) when he summited Mt. McKinley, which is the highest peak in North America. This picture used to hang in Great Harvest before they moved locations.

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY
KORY!!!
Yes, my husband is officially 30 years old. A few years ago he said that he wanted to have kid before he turned 30- we made it by 2 1/2 months!
I am so lucky to have Kory for a husband. He is so good with Parker Lynn and he loves her so much. He is great at helping me with her whenever I need a break, even if he's had long tedious day at work.
He is such a hard worker (and also a work-aholic) and he does such a great job at providing for our family.
I think one of the biggest reasons I love Kory is because he is such a kid at heart, as you can tell from these pictures:

Smiley Face!!!

Parker has turned in to a pretty happy baby these days! She is always smiling and talking, it is the best ever! It is hard to get good shots of her smiling because my camera has a delay on it. These are some of the best ones I could get.

This is the smile she gave me after she pooped ALL over a pair of brand new pink overalls.

No, she's not smiling in this picture, but she looks too cute sitting on the couch all by herself!

Two months old.......crap!!!

I cannot believe my sweet baby is two months old! Time is flying by so fast! I have to admit that the first few weeks were so hard and not as fun as I expected, but now I am past that and Kory and I love this little girl more than anything! I love her more and more each day.

She is sort of smiling in this picture.
She definitely smiles and babbles a lot more now. It is so fun!

My sister Molly is going to be mad I posted this picture!

Two month shots

Parker had her two month check-up last friday. I was scared to death! She got one shot in her right leg and two in her left and also one oral vaccination. She was a little trooper and only cried for a little bit.

Afterwards she slept all afternoon! She was worn out!

Blessing Day

Parker's blessing day was this last sunday. It was a very emotional day for Kory and I! Kory had been practicing her blessing for about a week- he was sooo nervous. He did an amazing job and Parker didn't make a peep during the blessing!

I love Parker's blessing dress because it's vintage. I borrowed it from my grandma, she's not exactly sure how old it is, but I think it is at least as old as me. Some of my cousins and second-cousins were blessed in it.

This picture shows exactly how long her dress was.
